A growing number of people believe that our society is in problem of modern society. They think that we have lost our way and are no longer able to live in a civilized manner. These people often look back on our past for examples of how we used to live. They point out the good things about our ancestors and find ways to imitate them. There are, however, some problems with this approach. First of all, it can be difficult to agree on what “good” actually means.
Second, these comparisons tend to focus on materialistic values, while ignoring the importance of other values like family or community. Third, they often fall short of addressing the root causes of problems like poverty or environmental destruction. So maybe there is more to modern society than meets the eye? Maybe it’s not so bad after all? Maybe we just need to change some things around?
