Katie and Charlie Ferraro have always wanted to have a big family. So when they found out they were expecting naturally conceived quadruplets, it was like their dream had come true right then and there.
The couple already had a 1-year-old girl named Molly, which meant they were going to grow to a family of seven. Although they were on the moon, they had some fears.
Katie, 37, had a high-risk pregnancy given the medical problems that could occur, such as increased rates of chromosomal abnormalities and stillbirths.
If Katie made it to 34 weeks, she would have a scheduled C-section at the Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns in San Diego. But as she could go into labor early, there was also a plan put in place by the team to ensure the deliveries were made safely at all times.
Still, there were many nerves and questions in the couple’s mind about the health of their babies. In the video, Katie revealed some of her thoughts: “Are they going to have health issues? What kind of surgeries will they need? How long will they stay in the neonatal intensive care unit?”.
“Being expecting 4 babies with possible problems, you pray for the best, but being realistic, it may not be as beautiful and wonderful as you hope”, says Katie.
Finally, the day came for Katie and Charlie to meet their 4 puppies, and surprisingly, their gender would be a big surprise. Katie eventually reached her 34th week of pregnancy, so the couple headed to the hospital and prepared for the C-section. In the room, individual medical teams were assembled for each baby.
In addition to the babies, there was still the possibility that something could go wrong with Katie herself as well, according to Dr. Joanna Adamczak: “A multiple birth is a risk. The uterus is significantly expanded compared to having one baby or twins and there is a risk of more bleeding.”
The mother seemed to take a deep breath as she looked around. It was the day they had been so eagerly waiting for.
First, baby “A” was born. To everyone’s great delight, it was healthy! Charlie Albert came into the world weighing 1.84 kg.
Then came baby B, named Little Claire Bonaventure, who weighed 1.87 kg. Baby C was another boy, named Henry Cornelius, who weighed 1.42 kg. Last but not least, baby D was Dillon Christopher, at 1.46 kg.
The quadruplets were born a minute apart, but more importantly, they were all healthy!
All were taken to the neonatal intensive care unit, where they were accompanied by the good-hearted team. Katie and Charlie were overjoyed, and within a month, they were able to take them home.
The Ferraro family already had seven members, but they didn’t want to stop there, and in March of the following year, the couple had twins, Gus and Hannah.
Katie and Charlie always wanted a big family, and that’s exactly what they got. Watch the video below to see their emotional adventure as they prepare to host quadruplets.

Loan Approval and Disbursement
Once the property valuation is complete and meets the lender's criteria, they will approve your loan application. The lender will communicate the approved loan amount, interest rate, and repayment terms. Upon agreement, the loan amount will be disbursed to your bank account.
